Skills/Previous Experience:
I have many years experience in:
1. Television: (support artist) i.e. This Sceptered Isle, The Control Room, Ladbroke's advert, Vera (14, 13, 12, 11), My Mum Tracy Beaker, Ackley Bridge, Succession, The Bay, Inspector George Gently, Victoria 2, Emmerdale, Vera 10, BBC Inside Out, The Feed, Gentleman Jack, Victoria 3, Anne, M&S Christmas Commercial, Vera 9, Wire in the Blood, Beowulf; also Bollywood movies 'Gold' and 'Pagalpanti', and historical action drama 'Outlaw King'. I also took part in BBC Music Day on 5th June 2015 for our region (singer/performer), and worked as Production Assistant on BBC Music Day 2016 'Take it to the Bridge' in Middlesbrough. I worked as Production Assistant for BBC Children in Need in 2015 and 2016.
2. Amateur Theatre: acting/singing with Tynemouth Amateur Operatics, Newcastle Musical Theatre Company, Whitley Bay Operatic Society, Whitley Bay Theatre Company and Whitley Bay Pantomime Society - in numerous plays and musicals.
3. Touring plays: with Tynemouth Pageant Players - Emily in which I played the lead as Emily Wilding-Davison, a local suffragette who died in her attempts to secure the vote for women approximately 100 years ago; and Where the Wall Begins in which I played the lead as Mother of a family in Segedunum in Roman times.
Personal Summary:
I am a bubbly, confident person and acting is, and has always been, a passion of mine. I have been involved in many productions, either acting, singing, narrating/presenting or as part of the production team.
I come from a very musical and theatrical family and along with my children, siblings and nephews/nieces, I have been performing on stage and television for many years. My favourite theatre appearance was as 'Annie' in Calendar Girls when we were the first amateur group to bring the emotional, but hilarious, show to the stage in the North East.
I am a hard-working and reliable person. I love the challenge of portraying an accurate and authentic character and I thrive on the pressure, adrenalin and the buzz on set. I am good at improvisation, taking direction and am committed to my performance.
I currently work for the BBC in Newcastle. I also have my own specialist cake business Jooly Scrumptious. My work is flexible which means I am available for SA/acting opportunities at all times.
