Personal Summary:
Supporting Artists / Extras are sometimes referred to as 'human wallpaper'. A bit blunt, but it does have some accuracy - 'extras' add life, 'feel', realism and substance to scenes which would otherwise be rather barren. We're not the stars. We don't deliver thrilling or funny dialogue, but we do make a valuable contribution.
I've been a teacher, trainer, Driving Instructor and played dramatic roles and various Pantomime roles (Oh Yes I Have ! ) and delivered professional presentations adults and children. I've appeared as 'supporting artist' in a number of episodes of George Gently, Beowulf, Vera and Outlander. I enjoy the experience of being part of a tv or movie production. It's very interesting and there's lots of camaraderie. I can adapt to a serious, happy, sinister or whatever character is required. I'm retired with a flexible diary so can be available even at short notice. I'm often accused of being Alan Partridge, so that's a bonus feature!
YOUTUBE link is video of character I played in indie movie. I was ex Speed Walking Champion with delusions of grandeur.... Video made in Norway and Singapore (whilst I was on holiday), as if Toby, my character, was practicing for the South East Asia Speed Walking Championships. I was being interviewed by my daughter, in fact, who lives in Singapore.
